CEIS101 Final Project
Develop a smart home automation and security system by designing the prototype in Tinkercad, building the hardware with the components from the IoT Tech Core Kit and programming within Arduino IDE. The smart home system will encompass various devices to monitor the condition of the home. This includes a door sensor to check whether to door is open or closed, a distance sensor to monitor for a possible home intruder, and automated lights that turn on when it is dark. Optional components can be added to the smart home system including a water level sensor to monitor for possible flooding as well as a temperature and humidity sensor to monitor the weather conditions.
CEIS106 Final Project
This project covers fundamentals of the Linux operating system in a virtualized environment. It includes activities such as navigating the Linux file system, writing shell scripts, managing users and groups, understanding IP configurations, and monitoring system performance. It lays the foundation for an understanding of emerging technologies such as Virtualization and Cloud Computing, which prepares me for a future career in Information Technology.
CEIS110 Final Project
This course project covers data analysis using Python and is divided into six parts. Each module builds upon the project resulting in an analysis of weather data downloaded from a cloud data source, stored in a database, extracted and processed. The design and development process of the system will include planning, software setup, programming, and data analysis. It will encompass the many aspects of the software development process and prepares me for my future career in technology.
CEIS114 Final Project
This course project covers the fundamental concept of the IoT by integrating hardware, software, and networks into a whole system. The project focuses on the development of an IoT device to simulate a multiple traffic controller system utilizing ESP32 Microcontroller, Web and a Smart Sensor. The design and development process of the device includes planning, hardware setup, programming, and networking. It encompasses many aspects of the IoT and prepares me for my future career in technology.
NETW191 Final Project
The project covers the fundamentals of networking that plays a vital role in the world of IoT. The design and development process of building a network includes SOHO router configurations, subnetting, connectivity testing, network documentation, and SOHO wireless network security. This foundation enables the learning of emerging technologies, including IoT, and prepares me for my future career in Information Technology.
PHYS204 Final Project
The best way to learn physics, is to do physics. Not only does this course teach the physical principles behind the workings of the universe, but also it helps to train me in the solution of complex logical problems. This course project is based on the scientific method, and is divided into parts. Each deliverable builds from the previous. The development process of the project includes critical thinking, hardware setup, and programming. It encompasses several aspects of the IoT to prepare me for a future career in technology.
NETW211 Final Project
This course explores virtualization and cloud computing and the topics found in the CompTIA Cloud+ Certification. This professional pathway was chosen because of the intrinsic value of these topics, the resume value of the Cloud+ certification, and the vital role cloud computing has the world of IoT. My Final Course Project will showcase several technologies that are the foundation of all cloud computing. The skills I learned are applicable to many jobs in the IT industry.
SEC285 Final Project
This course explores the fundamentals needed to analyze internal and external security threats and implement security mechanisms. Network and Internet security issues are evaluated to provide security solutions, design information systems security policy, troubleshoot networks, and implement digital signatures. This Final Course Project involves many operations and procedures that are essential to information security and a career in the information security industry.
CEIS150 Final Project
This course builds on structured programming, and introduces object-oriented and functional programming concepts. Students will design, code, test, and document business-oriented solutions using complex algorithms. Advanced topics include the use of libraries for data manipulation and visualization.
CEIS236 Final Project
This course introduces the concepts and methods fundamental to database development and use, including data analysis, modeling, and Structured Query Language (SQL). Basic functions and features of a database management system (DBMS) are explored, with an emphasis on the relational model.
CIS355A Final Project
Building on analysis, programming, and database skills developed in previous courses, this course introduces fundamental principles and concepts of developing programs that support typical business processing activities and needs, such as transaction processing and report generation. Students develop business-oriented programs that deal with error handling, data validation, and file handling. Java is the primary programming language used.
